The Life Goes On Foundation have linked up with Linda Butler of Ostomy Covers to provide a free ostomy pouch cover in a design of your choice for each new member within Scotland.

You can place an order for your free pouch cover by mailing the following details to: freecover@thelifegoesonfoundation.org.uk:

> Your name
> Your full address including postcode
> Your chosen fabric identification number (from the fabric samples provided here - the samples will open in a new window)
> Your pouch type

Following this you will recieve a reference code for you to mail to Linda along with one of your ostomy pouches and your chosen fabric identification number.

Alternatively you can send in a piece of fabric that you wish to have the cover made from. Linda will then make the cover and send it to you direct.

You are, of course, welcome to contact her directly to order and pay for any additional covers as you wish (details of how to place orders with her directly are below).

The following details are a brief introduction to Linda:



Hi, my name’s Linda and I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 1990 and subsequently underwent an illeostomy. At first I had reservations about my new stoma, lacking confidence, and feeling self conscious when out in public at places such as swimming pools. When trying to find covers for my ileostomy bag I found that there was a very limited range, all of which did not fit properly or were an added nuisance. It was because of this I decided to design my own bag covers.

For the past 17 years therefore I have been making bag covers for myself, fellow ostomists/ostimates/(whatever we like to call ourselves!), all of whom have been extremely pleased with my products. I make the covers to fit all appliances by asking every customer to send me one of their bags in the post so I can use this as a template to make the covers a perfect fit. This in itself obviously helps to increase confidence during intimate moments and in other pursuits.

I supply covers in a wide range of fabrics, including plain coloured polycotton, patterned polycotton including designs for children, lacy fronted for the ladies, and camouflage and lightweight denim for the gentlemen. See my contact/order page for more information.

I have been told that the added benefit my covers have given to my clients is immeasurable, providing them, like myself, with increased confidence and positivity, enabling me to undertake challenges which I once thought could never be possible.

If you would like to place an order over and above the free cover offer, please send one of your appliances, along with a note of how many covers you would like and in which colours. Please also include a cheque or postal order for the total amount. The polycotton covers are £8 each and the lacy fronted covers are £9. Please include an extra £1.50 for postage and packing.
